What to Expect at Your First Pilates Session
Thinking about booking your first session but not sure what you're walking into? Here's a quick rundown so you can show up feeling prepared and at ease.
Before You Arrive
Everything you need to manage your appointments is handled right here on the website. Scheduling, rescheduling, canceling, and payment are all self-serve and straightforward. No phone tag, no texting back and forth, no hassle.
As for what to wear: comfortable workout clothes that give you a free range of motion. RE:FORM SCHOOL PILATES has traditionally been a barefoot studio, so you're welcome to work in bare feet. But if you prefer grip socks, feel free to bring a pair.
Your First Session: A Conversation First
Before we get moving, I'll take a few minutes to get to know you. I'll ask about what brought you to Pilates, your goals, any prior experience with Pilates or the reformer, your general fitness background, and any injuries or movement limitations I should be aware of. There are no wrong answers, this just helps me make sure your session is tailored to you from the very start.
And bring your questions! I love talking through the "why" behind the work, and there's plenty of opportunity to chat as we move through your session.
Then We Move
Sessions are 55 minutes long. After our initial check-in, we'll get to work — and I'll be guiding you the whole way, whether you're brand new to the reformer or coming in with some experience.
Bottled water is always available at the studio — help yourself during the session or grab one on your way out.
The Short Version
Come comfortable, come curious, and come ready to move. The rest takes care of itself.
